Comprises correspondence between Mackinnon and his business partners including James Macalister Hall, partner in Mackinnon, Mackenzie & Co and Director of BISN Co., P. Hall, agent of Mackinnon, Mackenzie & Co. in Calcutta, Van Halstyn, agent in the Dutch East Indies, Archibald Hyslop, agent in India, BISN Co engineers including Alex Johnstone and shipbuildersincluding A. & J. Inglis. Also includes BISN Co. private letters, 1888-1889.
