Comprises: (1) Personal letters including a letter to 'Jonas' from B.L.' expressing displeasure at the way business had been conducted in his absence, dated 1876. Three letters to the secretary of the Huddersfield Designers Association from John S. Armley concerning fallacies in a paper by Mr Thomas Paterson on 'Setting according to twilling', dated 1877; (2) Details of soap manufacture; (3) Bills for setting up a cloth manufacturing business. Most are detailed invoices for machinery purchases from various West Riding machinery makers.
