Custodial History

In the 1930s and 1940s, Stanley Freese gathered data on Buckinghamshire wind and watermills and wrote this up as a book, which was never published. The manuscripts were later passed to James Venn, who conducted further work on the windmills section which he intended to revise and publish; this was never completed. The watermill section was published in 2007 - see the introduction to this volume for further information on the history of the manuscripts.

Related Material

The copy of the manuscript on which the 2007 volume was based was deposited with the Buckinghamshire Archaeological Society.
