Scope and Content

In consideration of six marks, Roger 'de nomine Wynem'' confirms his gift (with warranty) to master Robert of Berchampstede, clerk, of one selion and one rod of land in the fields of Evesdon, specifically, in the field called Bradefeld, the selion lying between land of the monks of St Alban and the land of William Wynem', and the rod of land lying between land of Mariota, widow of Michael Patema' and Bradefelde Wee [Way]. He also gives to Robert another selion towards Stepmanneshil, lying next to the land of one William ?Sckut, reserving to Roger a payment of one halfpenny each Easter for all services. Deed poll, witnessed by William Jake, Alexander Peuerel, William Podiuat, Peter de Waneting', John Finor, Walter Roche, Hamelin ate pond, Richard Wynem', Richard son of Hugh le Wyrecte, and others. Black oval seal. Contemporary endorsement: 'Carta Rogeris Winem''. Further endorsed in pencil: '17'.
