LETTER: J. C. W. Reith, Ministry of Transport, Metropole Buildings, Northumberland Avenue, London to Sir R. Williams-Bulkeley, Bart., K. C. B concerning the vulnerability of communications between Anglesey and the mainland. If both bridges were hit then communication would be entirely dependent upon shipping. There is a large store of flour in Anglesey and special arrangements are being made for the provision of emergency food supplies sufficient to feed the population for a month. Suggests that R. W. B should discuss the matter with the Regional Commissioner for Wales if he has not already done so.
