COPY LETTER: J. D. Waters, secretary of Commissions, House of Lords to Capt. N. Humphreys, CBRN. Following a recommendation by the Lord Lieutenant and the Minister of Transport, the Lord Lord Chancellor has directed that his name be inserted in the commission of the peace for Anglesey, so that he may carry out the functions of a J. P during his office as Captain of the port of Holyhead. When he ceases holding this office the Lord Chancellor asks him to tender his resignation from the Commission of the Peace.

NOTE: R. Williams-Bulkeley to Clerk to the Lieutenancy dated 1 December 1939 saying that the above letter received from Admiral Grant may assist him in the procedure to be followed. Asks him to ascertain whether Capt. Humphreys has sent in his resignation.
