COPY LETTER: A. C. White, Deputy Chief of Constable of co. Bucks to R. H. Prothero, Chief Constable's Office, Holyhead concerning proceedings to be instituted against Sir Harry Verney, Bart. for indecent assault on boys. The writer refers to a complaint from the mother of a boy, on 2 October 1929, that H. V. had indecently assaulted her son whilst giving him a motor car ride. Before any action could be instituted for this and other allegations by the Director of Public Prosecutions (case no; 1403 of 1929) H. V. had suffered a serious road accident and was subsequently detained under the Lunacy Act in the Private Mental Institution of Doctor Stillwell at Moorecroft, Hillington, Middlesex.
