At each session, the justices issued orders for a payment of money and these orders were to be entered in money order books. Payments refer to fees for criminal prosecutions; conveyance and maintenance of prisoners; salaries for hall keepers; work on shire halls; salaries for repairing county bridges; issuing of registers of voters; salaries of county officers: and rent for police houses and lock-ups.
