Sir Edward Gascoigne borrowed £10,000 from Soresby and as security for this sum demised the manors of Barwick cum Scholes, Aberford, Bramham, Parlington and Garforth for 3000 yrs but redeemable by Gascoigne on payment of £10,000 with interest at 4 1/2%. Quotes WYL115/DZ/2138, 29 May 1724, and an indenture of assignment of the same date by which Robert Lord Bingley assigned Parlington manor to Calton on trust for Soresby for 2000 yrs but redeemable by Gascoigne in same way. now Calton and Soresby agree that if Gascoigne pays Soresby £10,750 (£225 on 1 January 1724/5 and £10,225 on 1 July 1725 in the Inner Temple Hall, London) then Calton and Soresby will convey the recited securities to Gascoigne. Statements that Bingley had power to assign to Gascoigne and that Gascoigne was lawfully seized in fee simple of the property and had power to demise.
