Taken at Pontefract Castle at a Court of Survey under royal Commission by Thomas Potts of Skipwith woods, esq., deputy to Thomas Ld. Knyvett, the Queen's Surveyor General, for Anne of Denmark, Queen of England before Sir Thomas Metham, Lord of the manor of Thorner, Geo. Shillito, esq., lord of the manor of Seacroft, John Gascoigne, esq. , of Barnbow, John Ellis, esq., of Kiddall, William Oglethorpe, esq., and other principle tenants of her Majesty. The contents: rn.2. bounder of the manor, m.6. Index of freeholders, customary tentans, farmers and others. Edward Copley of Batley, esq., holds the site of the manor. John Ellis of Kiddall holds the ancient demesnes. m.10. After Barwick demesne and copyholders, tenants are listed in Barnbow, Kiddall, Woodhouse, Potterton, Hillouse. m. 13.
