Scope and Content

Collection of windmill and watermill photographs, drawings, research notes, correspondence and other documents relating to UK mills, with particular emphasis on the regions of Bedfordshire, Suffolk and Lincolnshire.

Administrative / Biographical History

Peter Dolman (1955-2002) was a mill enthusiast, mill owner and author with an encyclopaedic knowledge of windmills in East Anglia, the home counties and Lincolnshire. He had a particular knowledge of Suffolk mills of all types. He led the restoration of Thelnetham tower mill, Thorington Street watermill and Stanton post mill. Conditions Governing Access

Available to all readers by appointment at The Mills Archive, Reading. We are open Monday to Friday from 10am-3pm.
