Autograph letter to Hugo from a Republican who recalls with gratitude a seven month's stay at Hauteville house, sends his greetings to Hugo and his family and explains that, having fled from France, he is back in Spain and has written several times but had no reply.

The signature is partly illegible, Villiers being the only legible word. The writer is unidentified.
