Autograph letter to Hugo asking Hugo, who had helped him before, for a letter of recommendation to Varcollier, a Beaux Arts official at the Hôtel de Ville: introduced by Hugo he could "go and plead his cause" confident of being well received.

Marked 'r' (répondu) in Hugo's hand.

Châtillon was a French painter, sculptor and poet. He painted the famous portrait of Léopoldine Hugo on the day of her first communion (1836).
