Autograph letter of thanks to Hugo for writing to Hamel about the latter's article on him in the Courrier de l'Europe. Hamel explains that a leading French paper had rejected his article as 'dangerous' but that his brother-in-law Mr. Pascal had accepted it for his Liberal paper published in London.
