Letter from J. Rémy to Hugo

Scope and Content

Autograph letter to Hugo, as a député of the Assemblée, passing to him a request from Poujoulat that, when Rémy's petition for a literary allowance came up the next day, Hugo should demand that it be referred to the Minister.

Rémy mentions that he was man of letters. A naturalist and traveller was also named Jules Rémy (1826–1893), but he could not have written this letter as he was in Chile at that time.
