Scope and Content

The following items have been attached to two cardboard sheets with sealing wax and therefore cannot be catalogued in their right place. Only two reference codes are given to the ensemble (one for each cardboard), but a separate description is written for each letter.

The ensemble was bought on 30 June 1965 from Andrieux for 330.4 francs.

Hémon was a radical Republican and graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure at the end of the 1860s. He smuggled Hugo's books to France during his exile.

Meurice was a French playwright and friend of Hugo.
