Autograph letter from the administrative partner of Béthune and Plon, printers, begging Hugo to send for printing as soon as possible the two unpublished volumes (probably Le Rhin) in the series of his works published in the last six months.

Marked 'r' (répondu) in Hugo's hand.

Max de Béthune was a printer who collaborated with Hugo, Théophile Gautier and Honoré de Balzac in the 1830s.
