Autograph letter to Hugo in which the writer says that, having a moment to spare, he thinks that he could not better use it than by writing to Hugo.

Viennet was a French playwright and writer. After a military career under the Empire, he became journalist and playwright during the Restauration. He was elected Liberal deputy in 1828, 1830, 1831, and 1834. He also entered the Académie Française in 1830, where he was an enemy of the Romantics.
