Scope and Content

Autograph letter to Hugo about the writer's Histoire de St-Augustin which the Académie Française has reserved for the Concours Montyon. Poujoulat adds that he admired Hugo's two latest speeches in the Académie Française as an eloquent prelude to the political debates of the Luxembourg Place.

Poujolat was a French man of letters, historian, and friend of Louis-Gabriel Michaud. He was elected Legitimist deputy in 1848 and 1849.
