Letter from Charles-Antoine Pagnerre (1834-1867) to Hugo

Scope and Content

Autograph letter to Hugo from the son of a Paris publisher on behalf of his father who, too ill to write himself, is anxious to know whether Hugo has in fact entrusted the publication of Les Contemplations to Hetzel.

Written on a professional headed paper of Pagnerre.

Pagnerre was a French publisher (Librairie Pagnerre), son of Laurent-Antoine Pagnerre (1805-1854), publisher and deputy of the Seine-et-Oise in 1848.
