One letter from 'Mousie and Mischief', [Isabel Marshall and Lily Armstrong], dated 26 November 1865, with references to Ruskin's work, ('...;we have just been hearing more of your book...; we want to know what kind of cookery your little housewives would learn from Circe and Medeia [sic]...;') and time he spent with them, ('...;there are true things in the book just as you did say them...; you hiding in the rhododendrons too, and pretending to go to sleep. That is just what you say so often especially when we want to know something very particularly...;'). Also one letter from 'Lily Bear' [Lily Armstrong], dated [16 October 1887], prompted by reading about Ruskin in the newspaper and containing reminiscences and mention of her collection of letters from him dating back twenty-six years.
Dated at Winnington (/20); Ludlow (/21).
