Administrative / Biographical History

The Bishop family originated from Horsley, Gloucestershire. John Bishop came to South Wales to work as a gamekeeper at Penlline Castle, Fonmon Castle and for the Earls of Dunraven. A detailed history of the family is given in Martin Bishop's article, see D138/13/1-9.
