Scope and Content

Journal of John Orsmond, February - October 1824, describing his missionary work at Afareaitu (Eimeo). He mentions the building of chapel, school and house, the death of Mrs Martha Threlkeld [nee Martha Goss], the baptism of his daughters Eliza and Charlotte, the arrival of Charles Barff and James Platt his pupils, meeting with Tyreman and Bennet deputation, and feeling the discouragement and isolation of his new situation.
