Scope and Content

Signed minutes of Executive Committee meetings, bound with supporting papers. Papers include General Secretary's Report of Executive Committee meeting, Standing Orders, draft financial estimates, balance sheets, Annual Accounts, lists of missionaries, reports from Executive Staff including visits made by Executive Secretaries to member churches and projects, reports and reflections, thematic and discussion papers, copies of circular letters and significant correspondence, details of special grants requested.

Administrative / Biographical History

From 1977, the CWM Council appointed, at each of its meetings, an Executive Committee to act for it between meetings. The Executive Committee normally met every 6 months. The Executive Committee was made up of representatives from each of the six CWM regions, a women’s representative, a youth representative and the three honorary officers. CWM executive office staff also attended its meetings. The Executive Committee was authorised to act on behalf of the Council except on decisions regarding the admission of a new constituent body to CWM or the appointment of new executive staff.

Conditions Governing Access

Minutes are closed for 30 years from the date of creation to protect confidentiality. After 30 years, minutes may be consulted in the Special Collections Reading Room but users are asked to sign a Data Protection declaration form in relation to any personal data contained within the minutes.
