Typed extracts from the correspondence of Ernest Krause in the archives of the London Missionary Society, as complied in September 1949 by the LMS Librarian Irene Fletcher. The letters are primarily to the Foreign Secretary Arthur Tidman. Includes Krause's initial application to the LMS, and details of his background. The typed copies of the letters date from 16 May 1843, with Krause's appointment to Tahaa, Society Islands, following on from his work in Atiu, Hervey Islands. The extracts continue until 1868, and cover Krause's mission work in Bora Bora and Rarotonga. He retired from overseas mission service in 1868 due to ill-health, and the final entry is an entry from the LMS Board minutes welcoming him back to England.
