Journal of Charles Barff, August 1844 - March 1845, describing his missionary activities at Huahine and Raiatea, the ordination and marriage of his son John Barff, the recommendation regarding the appointment of Ernest Krause to the mission, various French attempts to extablish a 'protectorate of Phillip' at Huahine, Borabora and Raiatea, the activites of Mr Rodgers the 'Mormonite', and the censure of John Orsmond's contact with the French Governor and apparent political activity.
