Leaves from trees associated with David Livingstone

Scope and Content

Dried, pressed and mounted leaves taken from the tree at Kuruman, South Africa, under which David Livingstone sat when he proposed to Mary Moffat [sent by Mr & Mrs Hawkins of the London Missionary Society to Mrs Nora L. Bryson, London Missionary Society Tsangchow]. Also dried leaves gathered from the tree under which Livingstone's heart was buried in Ilala, Central Africa, by R. Codrington, Deputy Administrator, Northern Rhodesia.
