Amboina [Ambon] - grateful for LMS reports, applauds work of Dr Robert Morrison in China; work at Amboine growing still 'not rapidly and not without some hindrance'; two more Dutch missionaries arrived and learning the language; Kam is to accompany governor on tour of islands and inspection of schools, enabling him to visit missionaries. His fellow minister in Amboine died in 1828 and his successor shipwrecked.

Ternat [Ternate] - on voyage with the governor; meeting Dutch missionaries; baptisms; 2 new stations; grateful for May meetings reports; expects to be absent from Amboine till mid-December
