Relate position of expeditionary party; two of the party at Tete, with others hoping to join them shortly; received by his African travelling companions [waiting for his return at Tete] with great joy - thirty men have died of small pox and six killed by a rebel chief at the confluence of the Luenya; the "confidential servant of Sekwebu" is with him on board the launch; reports on the war around the Zambesi [Zambezi] delta, involving the Portuguese; river at a low point this month, but beyond Lupata presents no difficulties; hears that the new missionaries have come and hopes they all reach their destinations safely.
