EXAMINATION AND DEPOSITION: Edward Griffith of Bodlew, parish Llanddaniel, farmer, Hugh Hughes, of the Lockuphouse, Brynsiencyn, police constable, Hugh Morris and Owen Griffth both of Bryncelli, parish Llanddaniel, labourers. [Last two deponents called for the defence]. in the case vb.Hugh Williams accused of stealing a pair of driving reins, the property of Robert Griffiths. Deponent E.G. states that the reins were missed from the coach house at Bodlew where they had been put under the seat of a spring car. Deponent H.H. states he commented on what poor reins the accused had on his horse and said they were in search for reins lost from Bodlew. The accused asked E.G. if he had lost any as he had found some on the road. The accused went into the stable and pulled the reins from behind a chest from amongst a harness and some old lumber. E.G. identified them as his father's property. Deponents H.M. and O.G., for the defence, state the accused had showed them the reins previously saying he had found them.
