Scope and Content

EXAMINATION AND DEPOSITION: John Hughes of Henblas parish Llandrygarn, William Evans, police constable and John Aubrey, labourer, both of Llanerchymedd in the case v. John Williams, aged 13 years, accused of stealing a sovereign, property of J.H. Deponent says he and the accused were in service together at Henblas. The accused saw him put the sovereign in his chest and was suspected when it was missed a few days later. He eventually ad admitted changing the coin for silver at John Aubrey's and showed W.E. where these coins were hidden under some turf.

1) Summary Conviction of J.W. at Llanerchymedd. Imprisoned in Llanerchymedd police station for one hour and privately whipped once.
