EXAMINATION AND DEPOSITION: Owen Hughes of Thomas Street, shopkeeper, Evan Jones of Blackbridge, moulder, Hugh Evans of Edmondson Street, coal merchant, Jane Francis of the Talbot Inn, innkeeper, John Jones of Mount Pleasant, china dealer and Edward Owen, police inspector, all of Holyhead, in the case v. John Hughes accused of stealing three umbrellas, the property of Owen Hughes. Deponent H.E. states that he saw a person resembling the accused take three umbrellas from O.H.'s shop without payment. Other deponents state that a person resembling the accused came into the Talbot Inn selling two umbrellas. J.H. cross-examines two deponents.
