Papers of the Propert and Williams families, 1578-1961, including deeds, wills and other documents of the Thomas, Propert, Williams and Howell families, 1578-1893, relating to properties in Bletherston, Haverfordwest, Llanwnda, Mynachlogddu, St Davids and Whitchurch, Pembrokeshire, Llanwenog, Llannarth, Llandysul, Llangunllo, Llanfairorllwyn, Llandefriog and Llanwnnen, Cardiganshire, Llanelli, Llanllwni and Trelech a'r Bettws, Carmarthenshire, Loughor, Glamorgan, and Kibworth Harcourt and Kibworth Beauchamp, Leicestershire; family letters and papers, mainly of the Rev. T. Thomas, 1787-1855; receipts, 1762-1826; sales particulars and conditions, 1875-1947; personal papers of G. E. P. Williams, 1900-1961; genealogical material, 1719-1953; photographs and prints, 1888-1935; newspapers, 1810, 1955; and maps, 1843-1941.

Administrative / Biographical History

Richard Thomas Propert Williams (fl. 1908), solicitor, and his son, George Edgar Propert Williams (fl. 1900-1961), solicitor, of Penbryn, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, appeared to be descended from the Thomas, Howell, Propert and Williams families. The Propert, and later Williams, families lived at Hendre Eynon, St Davids, Pembrokeshire, with branches in Swansea, Glamorgan, and in Leicestershire. The Rev. T. Thomas (fl. 1789-1824) of Farndon, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, was a friend or relative of the family.
