Administrative / Biographical History
Jersey Customs Services collection covers the following areas of responsibility: collecting customs and excise duties, collecting GST on imported goods, controlling drug trafficking by detecting smuggling attempts, prosecuting the organisers and confiscating profits. The Customs and Immigration services joined and became one department in the early 21st century.
