Graham Brandon Theatre and Performance Photography collection

Scope and Content

The collection covers UK theatre, dance and opera and consists of photographic negatives and contact sheets created between 1979 and 2003, and digital image files up to the present day. Graham Brandon has been commissioned by the V&A Department of Theatre and Performance to document dance photo-calls.

Administrative / Biographical History

Graham Brandon is a freelance photographer who has been employed by the V&A Photographic Studio since 1978. In 1979 he began attending theatre photocalls on behalf of the V&A Department of Theatre and Performance to record live performance for the V&A's collections.

Arrangement

This collection has been organised into two sections:

  • THM/110/1 - Performance Photography (Analogue Photography, 1979-2003
  • THM/110/2 - Performance Photography (Digital Photography), since 2003
