Administrative / Biographical History

Gordon Batho was a professor of history at the University of Durham from 1975 to 1988. His collection was endowed to the School of Economics on his retirement in 1988. The collection originated at the Historical Association in London, where Professor Gordon Batho was a Trustee for many years.

  • School history textbooks arranged by year of publication and alphabetically by author within each year.
  • Series are arranged by date of publication of the first volume in the series and shelved before the run of authors.
  • History of teaching history texts are arranged alphabetically by author.
  • Examination papers are arranged by date.
  • Facsimilie based teaching materials are arranged by Series number.
