Scope and Content

From [Robert] Bernard in Coalbrookdale, Shropshire, to Mary Tooth at Madeley. He acknowledges receipt of £3 for the use of the Auxiliary Bible Society. It is to be hoped that [Tooth?] will not for one moment think of withdrawing from the work and he is sorry that they cannot have the pleasure of her company at the proposed meeting and is more sorry still for the occasion which keeps her away. He is afraid ''that no effects likely to result from the proposed trial will compensate to the Society for the loss of such [unreadable word] coworkers[?] as [Tooth] and others of her friends [women preachers?] have proved themselves.'' They should not consider withdrawing from the work for in heaven they shall gain their reward
