From Grosvenor Street, London to [Mary] Tooth at Madeley, Shropshire. He had previously omitted to send her a receipt for [Mary Fletcher's] furniture - this must be produced before the accounts [relating to Fletcher's estate] can be passed by the tax office. The completed receipt should be returned to him.
This morning he received a letter from Rev. [John] Eyton requesting that his legacy under the terms of Fletcher's will, be paid to Tooth [on his behalf] - a sum of £20 less £2 tax in addition to the money already settled.
[Anne] Tripp of Leeds, Yorkshire, has not replied to his letter. He has sent her a receipt anyway, assuming that she is known to be alive.
