Scope and Content

To [Mary Fletcher]. He has enclosed two of the volumes which Fletcher was kind enough to lend to him a few weeks ago, together with the papers on the names of the Lord.

Mortimer will not inconvenience Fletcher again by requesting the loan of other material, but Mr [John] Eyton [This implies that Mortimer was serving as Eyton's curate] has, with Fletcher’s permission, taken a copy of them. Mortimer will ask him for use of the copies as opportunity serves.

He would like to keep the ‘little preach book on recollection’ a while longer. He has derived a great deal of benefit from it ‘& shd my time permit wd wish to turn the whole or at least the greater part of it into English.’

Mortimer has written the [Madeley curate] Mr Walters that Sunday week or fortnight is the first convenient day when he can preach the charity sermons, but if that is inconvenient, any Monday[?] after that would be fine.

Mary sends her regards to Fletcher and Mary Tooth.
