Scope and Content

From Rachel Bayley St James's Church, Manchester to [Mary] Tooth at Madeley. Spiritual matters are discussed with particular regard to the death of [Mary Fletcher].

In a postscript she thanks Tooth for the delivery of the message to Rev. Mortimer. They have now appointed Rev. Whitaker as incumbent of St James but are still looking for a pious clergyman to be his curate. Rev. [John] Eyton recommended a young man but he is not quite ready.

Tooth may put Bayley's name down for six copies of the account of [Mary Fletcher]. The Hebrew Grammar [by Cornelius Bayley] is ready for printing but a few more subscribers would be nice.

Bayley's daughter sends her regards.
