Scope and Content

From Charlotte Street near Bedford Square, London, to Madeley, Shropshire. He has received the parcel of papers regarding the canal share [Kennet and Avon Navigation[?] - see MAM F1.1/8/45] and they appear to be in order. Samuel shall therefore write to Mr Ward at Marlborough 'to notify the assignment and to desire that I may be set down as the holder of the share'. Reference is made to annuities and Mary's income from investments.

Mary enquired very kindly after Charles's wife [Charlotte Anne] and indeed Mary ought to have been informed before this that she gave birth [on 25 January] to her second son [Robert William]. Both mother and child are doing very well. Samuel saw two of the children this morning - the other has gone [with it's parents] to Brighthelmstone [Brighton] this morning for a stay of a few days.
