Scope and Content

Printed stations of preachers issued by the Bristol Conference, July 1819

Attached letter from Joseph Entwisle in Bristol to Mary Tooth in Madeley. He has just enough time to say that all things being well, he hopes to be in Madeley on Saturday August 14th. They shall arrive at the Iron Bridge by coach from Worcester at about 3 o’clock. Entwisle would be grateful if Tooth could arrange with [John] Squarebridge for Entwisle to preach on the Sunday. Perhaps the plan that Tooth suggested would be the best one, if agreeable to Squarebridge. [The itinerant John Squarebridge was stationed in the Broseley circuit from 1818 to 1820.]

In a postscript, Entwisle asks how they may obtain transport to Birmingham on the Monday or Tuesday
