From Abraham and Eleanor Dickinson in Leeds. Spiritual matters are discussed in detail, with particular regard to the blessings which God has bestowed. This has been the case especially since [John] Pawson came to Leeds in 1787. They find that they have more power over sin, to keep the commandments and to love their enemies. Reference is made to the particular influence of St Matthews chapter 5 and St Paul's Epistle to the Romans chapter 12. Spiritual matters are further discussed in detail. They both call to mind the 'blessed times' when Fletcher was among them.
Their Tuesday night meeting, held once a fortnight, seems to be honoured by the Lord in a blessed manner. Last Tuesday night for example, 'the Lord seemed to shine into Sister [Sarah] Crosby's mind. She seemed wholly lost in God - & indeed she appears now as a shock of corn fully ripe…'
God has been in work among many of them since Pawson came among them. Spiritual matters are further discussed in detail.
The Dickinson would be honoured if Fletcher would do them the honour of staying with them during conference and for a few weeks after in July and August next.
They both shed many tears over the death of dear [John] Fletcher and on the perusal of Mary's letter to [John] Wesley giving an account of her husband's death.
