Scope and Content

From Sarah Holloway at Cam near Dursley. Her mother [Ann] has hopes of visiting Tooth at Madeley this winter, if this is convenient.

Her dear mother has been very ill this summer, but is now much better although weakened.

Marianne left them for Meriden School in the middle of October, having been detained at home because of affliction in the family and other circumstances. They have heard from her once and she was then very serious in her enquiries after Tooth - in their reply, they told her to write direct to Tooth. Marianne expects to spend the vacation at Meriden, although their mother would dearly love her to spend part of that time with Tooth.

Dear [David] Cornforth is quite well, as is his family.
