Scope and Content

From F[anny] Brechrin[?] at 40 Neville Street, York, to an unnamed correspondent [possibly Mr R. M. Middleton - see MAM/Fl/7/20/7]. Brechrin is sorry, but she has only one of the candles left by Mr/Mrs Fletcher and her daughter would like to keep it. Reference is also made to other items found by Reverend James Henry Alexander Gwyther [Vicar of Madeley] in the study at Madeley Vicarage, which he then gave to Brechrin's brother.Much of the rest of the letter is hard to read.

The letter is annotated with the following contemporary annotation: "This letter from Mrs Fanny Brechrin[?] (nee Moore) refers to the notes of a sermon on a card herewith in the handwriting of the Reverend John Fletcher, Vicar of Madeley. Mr Fletcher was born in 1729, and died in 1785""
