From John Acton Boden in Stourport, Gloucestershire, to [Mary] Tooth at Madeley. He is in Stourport on business and has been informed that if he travels to Manchester with £200-300 he will be able to buy goods at a low price. His father [John?] is unable to help him any more at present, but several friends have been kind enough to assist him with money. He would be grateful if Tooth could loan him £30 which would be repayable with 5% interest 'so long as I have it and will pay you the principal…as soon as I can'.
- John Boden senior may be the John Boden of Manchester whose obituary appears in the Arminian Magazine 1832, pp.900-901
