Letter

Scope and Content

From Forest House, Leytonstone, Essex. Her account is enclosed with a bank note for £88.10 which balances the mortgage account and settles everything. All that remains to be done is for Mary and Samuel to both execute a declaration setting forth that the money advanced to Mary is not the money left by their father. Mary should then execute a bond and indemnify Samuel for any expenses resulting from this affair.

Reference is made to Billy's bond [their brother William]. There remains also for [Thomas] Bennet to get the ten[?] acres of copyhold land done at the Manorial Court. Bennet has received Mary's letter and has asked Samuel to inform him that she will have no "fine" to pay - just the court fees and expenses. Financial and procedural details are further discussed.
