5th Anniversary Celebration of The Confucius Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine

Scope and Content

Publication produced for the 5th anniversary celebration event held on 18th April 2012 at the Keyworth Centre. The publication sets out the work and achievements of the Institute and includes messages from MPs and members of the Chinese Embassy.

The event was attended by a delegation from China, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the UK and the Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary China Group.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Confucius Institute at London South Bank University is the world's first Confucius Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine, established in a joint intiative between the University, Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine, Harbin Normal University and the Office of Chinese Language Council International, Chine (commonly known as Hanban). The Institute was set up in order to promote Chinese culture, with a focus on traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese Wellbeing.
