Scope and Content

Small, hardback brown covered notebook, autograph journal. First entry 9th September 1952, and last entry dated 9th December 1952.

In September Alec Guinness was appearing in The Sycamore Tree which had been running since May, after opening in Edinburgh in February. On the 12th September he mentions a lunch with Katie Weldon, a relative of Andrew Geddes, his supposed father. The family also recieved the news that Matthew would make a full recovery from his polio attack. In October Guinness travelled to Malta to film The Malta Story (1953). He also records a dream he had in October. In December he began working on Richard III.
