WOODCOTE PARISH RECORDS

Scope and Content

The parish of Woodcote is situated 19 miles south west of Oxford. The parish was originally a liberty and chapelry of South Stoke until 1846. For earlier records please see the parish of South Stoke, MSS.D.D.Par.South.Stoke.

The records were originally deposited in the Bodleian Library by Major J Fothergill-Cooke, secretary of South Stoke parochial Church Council in 1983. The material was then transferred to the Oxfordshire Record Office. Further records were deposited as Acc 5709 in February 2008 and as Acc 6766 in June 2019.

A conspectus of new and old references is included at the end of this catalogue. Catalogued by Alison Smith, November 2008 with additions in June 2019.
